Bricklaying and Brickwork in Hampshire
Brickwork is the trade this firm was built on. Garden walls, retaining walls, piers, steps, planters, boundary walls and structural brickwork — laid to line and level, with the foundations and drainage sorted before the first course goes down.
What we build
- Garden and boundary walls, single or double skin, with piers where the run needs them
- Retaining walls, properly footed and drained, for sloped and terraced gardens
- Gate piers, pillars and entrance features
- Steps, plinths and raised beds in brick
- Repairs and rebuilds where existing brickwork has failed
Matching existing brickwork
On older Hampshire properties, matching is the job. Brick colour, size, texture and bond all changed over the decades, and a modern brick set against a Victorian wall shows immediately. We blend from multiple sources where a single match is not available, and we match the mortar as carefully as the brick — colour, coarseness and joint profile all read at a glance once the scaffold comes down.
What goes on underneath
A wall is only as good as its footing. Retaining walls in particular need weep holes and a drainage layer behind them, or water pressure builds up and pushes the wall out over a few winters. On clay ground, footings go deeper than many people expect — seasonal movement is real and it does not forgive shortcuts.
