What a full landscaping project involves

Most gardens we take on need clearing and re-levelling before anything else happens. From there the work usually combines hard landscaping — patios, paths, steps, retaining walls, edging — with soft landscaping such as turf, topsoil and planting beds. Bringing both together under one firm avoids the common problem of a patio laid to one level and a lawn laid to another.

Hampshire ground, and why it matters

Ground conditions here change street by street. The clay through Hedge End, Botley and Fair Oak holds water and moves with the seasons, which punishes shallow foundations and poorly drained patios. The chalk and greensand around Winchester and Bishops Waltham drains fast but can be unforgiving to dig and needs different sub-base thinking. We survey what is actually under your garden rather than assume.
