Doors, Locks and Door Furniture in Hampshire
A door that will not lock properly is rarely a lock problem. More often the door has dropped, the frame has moved, or the keep is out of line — and replacing the lock alone fixes nothing. Diagnosing that correctly saves the cost of parts you did not need.
Locks

Door furniture
Handles, knobs, latches, hinges, letterplates, spy holes and door closers. Straightforward work, but the fixings and backset need to match or you end up with a handle that fouls the frame or a spindle that is the wrong length.
Door closers
Common in flats, HMOs and anywhere with fire doors, and often either slamming or failing to close at all. Both are a problem — a fire door that does not close is not doing its job. We fit, adjust and replace overhead closers and check the door still latches under its own weight.
The underlying problem
If a door has dropped, the hinges have worn, or the frame has moved with the house, we will tell you that rather than fit new furniture onto a door that needs adjusting. It is usually cheaper to fix properly than to keep replacing parts.
