Internal carpentry is the trade that decides whether a room feels finished. Doors that stick, skirting with gaps behind it, architrave that does not meet at the mitre — none of it is structural, all of it is the first thing a visitor notices.
What we take on
- Hanging new doors — internal doors trimmed, hung and adjusted so they close cleanly and sit flush in the frame
- Sticking and dropped doors — usually hinges or a frame that has moved, and usually fixable rather than a replacement
- Skirting boards and architraves — installation, repair and replacement after plastering or a renovation
- Damaged door frames — repaired in place where possible rather than ripped out
- Loose banisters, spindles and newel posts — a common problem in older houses and a genuine safety issue on a staircase
- General timber repairs — window boards, thresholds, loft hatches and the small jobs most firms will not turn out for

Period properties around Winchester, Bishops Waltham and Romsey rarely have a square opening or a standard door size in the building. Matching an existing skirting profile or trimming a door to a frame that has settled over a century is a different job to fitting new-build standard sizes, and it is worth having someone who expects it.
Small jobs welcome
Plenty of carpentry work is half a day rather than half a week. We would rather do a proper job on a single door than turn it down for being too small — that is often how a longer relationship with a customer starts.
